idle on trooper

1991 Trooper, 2.6L, manual

Idle stays at between 1500 to 2000rpm when I come to a stop, when I tab the gas it goes back to normal. Problem occured suddenly. I have replaced thermostat with orig isuzu. Recent valve job and adjustment was done 5000 miles ago.
